Download Endless Space Revolt

It is clear that strategy games are turn-taking to regain strength. With titles like Heroes of Might and Magic 6, 5 and more recently Civilization Warlock: The Arcane Master of the genre is doing quite well. Today is a newcomer that is proposed and this is the first game of the studio Amplitude (from France). Endless Space is a game that does not lack quality and ambition. This galaxy is ancient, and its first intelligent life was the civilization we call the Endless. Long before our eyes gazed upon the stars they flew between them, though all that remains of this people is what we call Dust. A substance found scattered or in forgotten temples, it once gave powers to admirals and galactic governors. The galaxy will belong to the faction that can take control of the Dust and uncover its secrets…
First, it is worth noting that unlike the games mentioned above, Endless Space, as the name suggests, takes place in space and therefore resembles more of a Galactic Civilization 2 in its context and atmosphere. As is the case in many adventure games, the story is nonexistent, but that does not prevent the player make his own history for each game by changing his style of play.

Indeed, several victory conditions are available to control the galaxy: military, diplomatic, economic and technological. It is feasible to create alliances or wars with other factions, to exchange with them and betray them, naturally. Another original idea, but that seems consistent is that when you encounter another civilization for the first time, you come in cold war against it, until a peace treaty is signed. This means that you can tackle in areas that do not belong to anyone and you can even attack the outposts without a shooting war breaks out.

Before starting a new game, the player must choose their race among the 8 available, or create one from scratch, knowing that thus it is possible to choose the bonus of our civilization. After a few settings (size and shape of the galaxy, many of civilization, difficulty, etc..) Is finally launching the player in the conquest of space.
A Born Leader: Guide one of eight civilizations as you strive for galactic dominion. Will you control the entire galaxy through subtle trade and diplomacy, explore every corner of the universe to find powerful artifacts and resources, overwhelm other civilizations with your advanced technologies, or destroy your enemies with massive armadas?
A classic gameplay, but with some surprises
The first thing the player will probably be the interface. It is rather well thought out and is not too bulky, but it is recommended to read the pop-up tutorial that teach you about everything there to know. The major difference in gameplay for the movement of units on the map. The different planets are connected by son and thus from planet to planet your ships will move. In addition, early in the game ships will be limited in their movements by "wormholes", represented on screen by lines blurred. As you will not have discovered the technology associated with them, you can not cross them.

The management side meanwhile is pretty standard and you must manage your planets and direct them to one of the available channels or productivity (ships and buildings), research (technology), food (population) or economic (the mist). Constructing buildings on the planets, you will greatly these values and will become more powerful. However, it should reflect the mood of your fellow citizens and construct buildings to meet them at risk of a rebellion on our hands. When the game starts you can not colonize certain types of planets, but in doing research you débloquerai other, as well as new types of vessels.
Endless Discoveries: With hundreds of star systems to explore, different planet types, luxuries and strategic resources to exploit, the mysteries within the Dust to master and a host of strange scientific phenomena to deal with, the player will have no lack of challenges. Hire heroes to become fleet admirals or system governors and discover five hero classes and their unique ability trees and specializations.
Space Opera: Experience Endless Space with state-of-the-art graphics and interface, switch between strategic battle decisions and long-term planning. Optimize each fleet for epic battles around contested stars. Create the perfect combinations from dozens of unique ships per civilization. Customize your ship with modules, armament, engines and special mods. The player has a plethora of choices of how to best destroy or dissuade his enemy.
Take on the Universe: Play against up to seven opponents and build up – or break – alliances at will. Discover an innovative and dynamic simultaneous turn-based gameplay. Permit instant jump-in for your ongoing online games. Define your own custom civilizations and confront the ones created by your friends.
Endless Replayability: Control every new game’s scope, from a quick match-up to an endless war. Generate an infinity of random galaxies where every start begins a new adventure. Modify the size, shape, density, age and a lot more to create your ideal galaxy. Choose from different victory conditions and adapt your strategy on the fly.
Creating GAMES2GETHER: Track the dev team’s objectives, progress and achievements. Participate in the creation of the game via the GAMES2GETHER initiative. Access early versions of the game and give your feedback to the dev team. Discuss actual and future game features and expansions with the dev team.
Customization and technology

Much more than aesthetic option, the screen customization of the vessels is very important and you should return there as soon as you unlock a new military technology. From this screen you can see models of ships you have and make new ones. It is unfortunately not possible to change each piece as permitted Galactic Civilization 2, but you can change weapons, defenses and support modules for each vessel. So you can produce ultra resistant vessels, but with little attack, or otherwise.

The technology tree are side contains four branches separately each: galactic war, applied science, exploration and expansion as well as diplomacy and trade. The tree is large and it is important to do research in order to progress in the game In order to advance faster research or production, it is possible to hire heroes. Three are available in the early game, the others come after a number of laps. These heroes have their own attributes and bonuses and can be assigned to either a solar system or a fleet.
In addition to content and therefore a very good replayability solo, Endless Space adopts more of a playable multiplayer up to 8. When you start a new game, and you have the choice to do some solo, private or public. Players then take on the role of one of the factions controlled by the AI and can join and leave whenever they want. In addition, the towers are played simultaneously! This means that you will not have to wait for a player X has finished his turn before you do. When all players click on the "End Turn" the round ends and another begins.

Finally, we can say that for their first project, the studio is no shortage of amplitude scale. Endless Space has everything one would expect of a game turn-based space and adds an even layer with a well thought out multiplayer (although still a little buggy, soon to be patched) and customization options jouissives vessels. Although I have not touched the sound aspect during the test, I must say the music is rather pleasant to hear, though repetitive in the long run. Available on Steam or download on the site for $ 30 Amplitude, Endless Space is a good deal.

Positives:
